Daily media briefings:

Briefings will be held at 1188 West Georgia at Monday to Friday at 8am.  A weekend briefing will be held on Sundays at noon.

BCCLA Executive Director David Eby and Policy Director Micheal Vonn will present video and observations from the day previous and will outline events for the upcoming day.  Mr. Eby and Ms. Vonn will answer questions but those seeking longer interviews are invited to review the Media opportunities provided below.

If you would like to attend any of these briefings, please arrive at the 1188 West Georgia office (the HSBC building) between 7:45 and 8:00am where you will be taken to the board room by a representative from the BCCLA.

Media Opportunities- interviews, Legal Observer office visits and ride-alongs:

  • Interviews with executive and staff: BCCLA spokespeople will be fielding requests for interviews throughout the Olympic period, based on availability.  To schedule an interview, please contact our media contact at either or by calling 604-630-9755.  Interviews can be provided in English, French, Hindi, Urdu, German and Korean.
  • Interviews with Legal Observers: The BCCLA is providing access to our Legal Observers in the office and as they are on the field. However, due to the focused nature of their work, we ask that media not engage our reporters unsolicited. Contact or call 604-630-9755 and we will arrange a time and observer team for you to talk with. Legal Observers speak a number of languages and we will attempt to match foreign-language outlets to an observer who speaks the same language.

Alternatively, media are invited send an email with the subject ”Subscribe” to to be added our media list. Every evening we will be sending out a press bulletin outlining events and incidents we will be discussing at the next morning press conference. We will also be sending out breaking news bulletins as they arise.
